The cost of development and maintenance has been borne personally by creator, Alex Harris.
Membership to KoalaTracker.com.au is free, as is use of the map and data. This is not a registered tax deductible gift recipient organisation, but a free community service.
- The site was $10,000 in direct expense to create;
- Platform fees are $47 per month rising to $62 per month in July 2013; Map software is $20 per month; (total outgoings of $82/m)
- With more than 1,400 hours donated to the project in development, management and maintenance so far, the total cost to me now exceeds $198,000 - and it has wiped me out financially;
- All donations gratefully received, no matter how small.
